Day 2 of the 2023 European Boulder & Lead Climbing Olympic Qualifier in Laval saw Britain’s Toby Roberts and Jack MacDougall secure their spots in Saturday’s semi-final.

Current British Boulder Champion, Jack MacDougall, had a solid start in the Boulder competition by topping M1. The Precision Climbing athlete from Sheffield finished the round in 6th place and concluded the combined competition with 91.9 points, securing the 16th position. The top twenty athletes would qualify for the semi-finals.

Climbing in the Lead competition right after MacDougall, Roberts pulled himself up from 4th after the Boulder to 2nd overall with 148.3 points, 7.1 behind Czechia’s Adam Ondra.
